Capitalization Styles
- UPPERCASE — every letter is capitalized. Used for headings, acronyms, or emphasis.
- lowercase — every letter is lowered. Useful for normalizing pasted text.
- Title Case — the first letter of each word is capitalized. Common for article titles and headings.
- Sentence case — only the first letter after a period, question mark, or exclamation point is capitalized. Natural for body text.
- Capitalize Words — capitalizes the first letter of every word boundary, leaving the rest unchanged.
FAQ
What’s the difference between Title Case and Capitalize Words?
Title Case lowercases the rest of each word (HELLO WORLD → Hello World). Capitalize Words only uppercases the first letter without changing the rest (hELLO wORLD → HELLO WORLD).
Does Sentence case handle abbreviations?
It uses a simple rule: capitalize after sentence-ending punctuation and at the start of text. It won’t detect proper nouns or abbreviations — those may need manual correction.
